          Colorado Trails Ranch

It's all you need, to do it all

Nestled in the San Juan Mountains in southwest Colorado is a secret that has been kept by many that wanted their own Shangri- La, until now. Colorado Trails Ranch, a mere stones throw from Durango, just 12 miles, is home to the finest dude/fishing/guest ranch west of the Pecos.
Colorado Trails Ranch is open for guests from June through October. During the peak summer season the ranch hosts a maximum of 65 guests per week. It has twelve cabins that can accommodate  singles or up to a  family of six. One of the many activities that guests can expect to do during their stay at the ranch is fly fishing on over 6 miles of private streams and rivers like the Florida,  (floor- reed- a)  San Juan, Piedra and Animas. These great western slope rivers have high concentrations of cutthroat, browns, brooks and rainbows. Send a yellow humpy  across a pool in one of these high mountain streams and you're likely to get your arm broke.
Glen Segerlund knows what it takes to please his guests and he delivers.  His entire staff  has a servants heart.  Your wish is their  command.  If fly fishing is not your cup of tea then how does river rafting on the Animas sound.  No!  Then how about hiking or riding one of their fine horses in the mountains?  No! Trap shooting?  Water Skiing?  A relaxing swim in the heated pool?  A trip to Mesa Verde National Park?   A City Slickers long horn cattle drive?  A train ride from Durango to Silverton? Archery?  I have to tell you the list goes on.
Talk about food!  It's such a simple pleasure but the chef at Colorado    Trails Ranch has taken dining to a new level of enjoyment. You come in from a long day on the trail and the chef has prepared a gourmet dinner served with fine wine.  Also, at least three other nights during your weeks stay, enjoy a sumptuous KC strip charcoal broiled, served outside under the stars just to keep you in the mood. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served family style, so you can pitch 'till you win. If you have special dietary needs let Jane or Jeanie know when you book and it will be taken care of.
This is the place for a family vacation in 2005.  The fun here is only exceeded  by the beauty of the mountain scenery.  Bring your camera and catch the spectacular sunrises and sunsets that only can be seen from above 6000 feet.  You can do it all at Colorado Trails Ranch.  Look them up on the world wide web at www.coloradotrails.com.     Book early and stay late....I'm going to.  JF
