Who is Jim Ferguson

Jim Ferguson is a Kansas based writer who in 2000 won the Kansas Press Association award for his excellence in journalism.   His writings draw upon more than 45 years of hunting and fishing experiences.  His photographs have been covers on Texas Bass Magazine, Ohio Magazine, Oil & Gas Journal, Northeast Oil Reporter and on several  outdoor publications.  He enjoyed many years as a tournament fisherman fishing for bass and stripers.

Jim is first and foremost a outdoorsman who believes in our right to hunt and fish. He also believes that it is our duty  to pass on this  right to the future  of America, our children. He has taught fishing clinics in grade schools, Bass Fishing Texas Style at Sam Houston State University Continuing Education and has spent hundreds of hours with men, women and children at trade shows teaching them the fundamentals of hunting and fishing.  His travels have taken him  from the Artic Circle to Old Mexico and he has harvested 19 North American Big Game animals.  Jim's  stories are informative, insightful and humorous.

The Great American Outdoor Trails Radio Magazine on the air, online and in print was created  and is owned by Ferguson  Publishing & Communications in Colby, Kansas.

The Fall Hunting Guide and the Spring Turkey and Fishing Guide are companion publications of the Great American Outdoor Trails Radio Magazine.
